And a day after unrest and a parliament showdown, Kenyan President William Ruto has withdrawn the contentious Finance Invoice. The transfer comes as an enormous victory for protesters who had been demonstrating towards the tax hike. On Tuesday, because the Kenyan parliament handed the contentious Finance Invoice, violence erupted in Nairobi. The Kenyan Police fired tear gasoline, water cannons and rubber bullets at protesters.
